Preparation
Many high quality educational resources already exist on standard or
electronic supports (educational sheets, website:www.laboratoriodelcittadino.org,
books, CD-Rom. Furthermore, they have to prepare by themselves a presentation
of the school they come from.
Objectives
The course is designed for teachers, educators, trainers, who want to
update and improve their profession, through a full week of study and
experimentation of an effective teaching method based on research, action and
training, in the frame work of the European tradition of the Grand Tour, which
found in Italy its ideal place.
Many great personages have left, in every European country, traces of their genie, sensibility and of the spirit of their times, in art, science and literature.
Travel and discovery represent the best way to compare oneself with nature and culture of places and landscapes. Physical travel becomes and opportunity of an intellectual and emotional travel, a way of telling through texts and images a very emotional transversal experience, in important places of the European culture.
During the last years, we have lost our conviction we could control our territory and assisted to a migratory process that will mix frontiers of territories which used to orientate our geographies. Traditions and identities now blend to give birth an ethic which, as it dissolves bounders and convictions, is becoming the ethic of the traveller, linked to experience, looking for the centre of what Kant called “starry sky”.
The course specially insists on the importance of the soul of the place, the genius loci and of the ancient link between humanity, place of origin and residence, between and time and history, between tradition and memory, categories that the virtual reality tends to slowly destroy.

Methodology
The growing use of qualitative research and research-action in science
and education has renewed methodologies and brought a best adequacy of empiric
research to the complexity of the education zone of action.
This project justifies the use of a neologism: research-action-formation.
It evokes the interrogation of a multiple reality and its evolution, the type ant level of involvement of its actors, the contribution and importance of the involved educators, etc.. The research aims to the progression of knowledge and forecasts the use of methodological tools of photography and reading of the reality through the systematic collection and analysis of data.
The action/innovation part will bring the objectivation of reality and action on that reality.
The action/innovation must lead to a renewal of practices.
The training part creates a place to reflect in an extensive, systematic and prolonged way before finding long-lasting modifications of representations and educational practices.

- Elaboration during the stage of projects on natural and cultural heritage and protection of environment;
- Follow up of implementation of the projects in the schools through the website;
- Mutualization of the educational approach: sending of realisations (texts, educational sheets, exhibition, photographs, videos) with the use of collaboration through the website (blog, collective production of knowledge ,auto-evaluation of the course);
- Elaboration during the stage of projects on natural and cultural heritage and protection of environment;
- Follow up of implementation of the projects in the schools through the website;

to elaborate new projects Comenius, Grundtvig, Leonardo, Study visits).
